SCA provides Russian orphanages with playgrounds and vehicles

Just before Christmas, SCA arranged a festive ceremony in Russia where a school bus was given to an orphanage in the Tula region near SCA’s tissue mill in Sovetsk. The event was part of the Zewa charity initiative Give Children a Touch of Care (Подари Заботу Детям ) that included providing more than 40 Russian orphanages with transport vehicles and playgrounds.

“As a socially responsible company we do our best to make a positive impact on the local communities we operate in,” says Maria Melyokhina, SCA Marketing director for Russia and CIS. “Our commitment to do so goes directly in line with our brand concept c/o life. We realize the importance of making life better for over 3,000 orphans that were covered under this charity initiative,” Maria continues.

Approximately 500,000 Euros were spent on providing the orphanages with 14 cars, three buses and 24 playgrounds.

“We were also glad that our customers were able to actively contribute to our charity initiative,” continues Tatiana Dushechkina, Marketing manager for SCA’s consumer tissue brand Zewa. One Russia ruble from each manufactured Zewa product with the Give Children a Touch of Care label was donated to the orphanages.

SCA offers toilet tissue, kitchen rolls and handkerchiefs under the brand Zewa in Russia.
